January 17, 2015

Welcome to worship, education and Christian fellowship on a glorious winter morning! Please greet those worshiping near you.

This Morning the message is Love for Our Enemies.  During his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus asks us to love and pray for our enemies.  Jesus is telling us our need to be able to forgive those that have harmed us.  This Sabbath, we will reflect on how our anger or bitterness, can create a distance in our relationship with God.

Next Week the message is Where Are Your Treasures? This is a message on our giving to the Lord and how it reflects on where our treasures are.  The reality is that everything that we have comes from God, and I believe he gives us so we can learn the gift of generosity.

Weekly Bible Passage: We are concentrating on learning Bible passages in 2015. Each week you will get a Bible passage on a business card to review and learn. We provided a snap ring so you can keep your Bible texts together. Reviewing the passage one or two times a day for 7 days should commit it to memory. At the end of the year you will have learned 52 new verses.

Flower signups: You can signup to provide the worship flowers for next year in the foyer. Thanks for helping with the worship service!

Pathfinders are meeting today @ 2pm.

Church Board is meeting Thursday at 7:00pm in Pastor's office.

San Gabriel Academy is hosting Academy Day on Thursday, February 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A day of fun, food, and information has been planned. Prospective students and parents are encouraged to attend. Call (626) 292-1156 for more information.

The message on January 31st is Living in Peace. In the Sermon on the Mount, we hear Jesus say, "Don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."  We believe in the power of God and his love for us, so our last sermon of this series will hopefully show us how to cope with our worries by ultimately trusting in God.

CREATION Health Series is underway on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Invite your friends to come and get a healthy start to the new year.

The flowers today are from the Lunas for Elissa's birthday.
