September 27, 2014

In the name of your Risen Son, Jesus Christ, we gather to praise God Almighty, the source of love and life. Welcome!

This Morning the message is Living Out God's Plan. Proverbs 19:21 writes, "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."  The message will help us see how we can focus on living the life that God wants us to have.

Next Week is the kick-off for our "Book of James" small groups. The message is Growing in Christ. As we introduce our small groups for this week, we should be challenged to grow in spiritual maturity. James helps us to recognize what that growth looks like, and the goal is to allow God to teach us and for us to be growing every day.

Adventurer Parent Meeting today. If you have a child in Adventurers, or you are thinking about putting your child in Adventurers - please stay after church today for a short parent meeting. Thanks.

Join a small group as we study the book of James.  James is a very practical book. It a study that will help your spiritual walk in a very real and tangible way. Sign up for a group in the foyer.

Pathfinders & Adventurers.  Our Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs are starting up next week. Enroll your child to help their spiritual and mental growth. Plus our clubs are great fun!

Yard Sale in November.  There will be another Yard Sale in November. So start getting your treasurers ready to sell. Proceeds will go to the Pathfinder club.

October 11th is Small Groups #1: The message is Dealing with Trials. We will see how we can find blessings in the midst of our struggles. The challenges that we face every day are actually opportunities for growth. According to James 1:12, he writes, "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."

Jesus said, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" (Matthew 18:20, NRSV). Welcome those near you to worship, and know that Jesus is in your midst.

This Morning is Communion Sabbath. This Sabbath will be one of our quarterly worship services of the Lord's Supper and footwashing.  This is the time to remember all that Jesus has done for us, and a time to rededicate our lives as we symbolically accept his sacrifice for us.

September 6, 2014

Welcome to worship as we move from summer into fall. May we be blessed in one another's presence and in the presence of our Savior.

This Morning the message will be Eureka. Our message for our worship service will have a bit of a Western flavor to go with our "Parking Lot" party.  Jesus says this when we come to God, "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ..."(John 17:3).  We all know that the western gold miners would shout out Eureka as they have found gold, but it is when we find Jesus is when we have truly found something.

Next Week  is Pathfinders' Sabbath. The Pathfinders will be leading out in our worship service. They are back from their Oshkosh Camporee trip, and will give highlights from their trip. Eagle Rock's Pathfinders Director, Steve Clement, will be our guest speaker.

TODAY is the Parking Lot Party. It's not too late to invite a friend. Bring some food to share and some chairs. The party gets started about 5:30pm.
