October 25, 2014

In the name of our Triune God -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit -- welcome to this time of prayer and praise, Word and worship.

This Morning is Small Groups #3: Faith and Works - On our third topic of our small group, we will discuss the relationship between faith and works. While we believe that we are saved only by Jesus, James 2:24 writes, "You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone." Works is a direct result of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit which means that our walk with God should compel us to do his will.

Next Week is Small Groups #4: Using Your Words.  This is the fourth week of our small groups, and this message will be on the power of words.  James calls our tongues like "fire that corrupts the whole body."  As we grow in Christ, help us see how our words can influence others in positive or negative ways.

Our annual Fall Party is Saturday, November 1st at 5:30pm. There will be some awesome fall food, a time of worship and then a time play some board or table games. This will be a fun evening!
So sign up in the foyer to bring some of your favorite fall foods. Dig a favorite board or table game out of the closet. Invite a friend or two and join us for the Fall Party!

It's Not Too Late: Join a small group as we study the book of James.  James is a very practical book. It a study that will help your spiritual walk in a very real and tangible way. Sign up for a group in the foyer.

November 8th- SG #5: Submit Yourself to God. Our culture certainly idolizes people with big celebrity personalities and their giant egos; however, God values a much different characteristic in all of us.  James writes, "humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up" (James 4:10).  This Sabbath will be a message of putting less emphasis on ourselves by putting God's will ahead of our own.

Yard Sale November 23.  There will be another Yard Sale in November. So start getting your treasures ready to sell. Proceeds will go to the Pathfinder club.
