This Morning is Small Groups #4: Using Your Words. This is the fourth week of our small groups, and this message will be on the power of words. James calls our tongues like "fire that corrupts the whole body." As we grow in Christ, help us see how our words can influence others in positive or negative ways.
Next Week is Small Groups #5: Submit Yourself to God. Our culture certainly idolizes people with big celebrity personalities and their giant egos; however, God values a much different characteristic in all of us. James writes, "humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up" (James 4:10). This Sabbath will be a message of putting less emphasis on ourselves by putting God's will ahead of our own.
Our annual Fall Party is TONIGHT at 5:30pm. There will be some awesome fall food, a time of worship and then a time play some board or table games. This will be a fun evening!
Bring some of your favorite fall foods. Dig a favorite board or table game out of the closet. Invite a friend or two and join us for the Fall Party!
Daylight savings time ends Sunday, November 2 at 2am. Remember to set your clocks BACK one hour. Yea for an extra hour of sleep!

November 15th- SG #6: Waiting Upon the Lord (James 5:1-19) - We will learn in our final sermon on our Book of James series that Christian maturity comes as we are able to be patient and even rejoice in our sufferings. James says, "as you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered" (James 5:11).
