Welcome to the Downey Adventist Church!

Welcome to worship, sisters and brothers, as we look toward the coming of the Christ!

This Morning the message is The Light of the World. In the Gospels, Jesus said "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" John 8:12.  In the Christmas story, the wisemen from the East followed the light of a star which lead them to Jesus.  The sermon for this Sabbath will be a reminder to always follow the light that Jesus is continually giving us.

Next Week is Pathfinder Sabbath. This will be a ceremonial worship service that highlights the attributes of Pathfinders and this service will also be an induction for any new youth that are joining the ministry.  This is always an inspirational Sabbath as Pathfinders is such an important part of our church.

Pajama Drive. Remember to bring some new PJs for children and teens in our area. Please bring new, complete sets by December 12th. Thank you!

The annual production of The Journey to Bethlehem, hosted by San Gabriel Academy, will be presented on the evenings of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 4-6, from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. This interactive journey and musical concert is free to the public. Outdoor journeys depart throughout the evening. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors. For more details and directions, visit our website at www.thejourneytobethlehem.org.

Christmas Service, Dec.19th, 10:50am. Join us in celebrating Christmas. The service will feature music, drama and a special message. All are welcome!

December 19th is our Community Christmas Program, The Gifts of Christmas. Every year, we have a special Christmas program for our worship service. This year  our program will have a narrative that is themed around the gifts that come with Christmas.  This will be a wonderful Sabbath that will give us the right perspective as we celebrate during this Christmas season.


Bring some Christmas cookies (on a platter or plate) to share after the service on Dec. 19th. Thank you!

Sergio Garcia: He is recovering from another back surgery. Please pray for healing.
Ray Fernandez: Ray has pancreatic and liver cancer. He is in Pacific Haven in Garden Grove. Please remember him in your prayers.
Isaac Jondiko: Tom J.'s father is ill in Kenya. Remember them in prayer.
Johnny Macias: He is recovering from surgery on his leg. Please pray the infection will be healed.
Sara & Sam Rivas: Their father has been given a few months to live due to cancer. Please remember the family in prayer.
Ava Meade: She requests prayer for healing from cancer.
Yolanda Ortegon: She requests prayer for healing and help with balance.
