Welcome to the Downey Adventist Church!

I invite you, as the prophet invited Israel: "Sing aloud ...! Rejoice and exult with all your heart ... The LORD has taken away the judgments against [us]" (Zephaniah 3:14-15, NRSV). Welcome!

This Morning is Pathfinder Sabbath. This will be a ceremonial worship service that highlights the attributes of Pathfinders and this service will also be an induction for any new youth that are joining the ministry.  This is always an inspirational Sabbath as Pathfinders is such an important part of our church.

Next Week is our Community Christmas Program, The Gifts of Christmas. Every year, we have a special Christmas program for our worship service. This year  our program will have a narrative that is themed around the gifts that come with Christmas.  This will be a wonderful Sabbath that will give us the right perspective as we celebrate during this Christmas season.

Everyone is invited to the AUS Christmas program Thursday at 7pm here at our church.

Christmas Service, Dec.19th, 10:50am. Join us in celebrating Christmas. The service will feature music, drama and a special message. All are welcome!

December 26th the message is The Day After. While we are very much still in the Christmas season, Christmas Day has come and gone, so now what?  We will learn the principles that come from following Joseph's journey. We obviously know that the birth of Jesus is just the beginning, and there was still so much more for Joseph as life goes on.

Bring some Christmas cookies (on a platter or plate) to share after the service on Dec. 19th. Thank you!

In Our Prayers
Jackson Family: Patricia Jackson's father passed away in Beliz on Tuesday the 8th. Remember the family during their mourning.
Sergio Garcia: He is recovering from another back surgery. Please pray for healing.
Ray Fernandez: Ray has pancreatic and liver cancer. He is in Pacific Haven in Garden Grove. Please remember him in your prayers.
Isaac Jondiko: Tom J.'s father is ill in Kenya. Remember them in prayer.
Johnny Macias: He is recovering from surgery on his leg. Please pray the infection will be healed.
Sara & Sam Rivas: Their father has been given a few months to live due to cancer. Please remember the family in prayer.
Ava Meade: She requests prayer for healing from cancer.
Yolanda Ortegon: She requests prayer for healing and help with balance.
