Welcome to the Downey Adventist Church!

Welcome to worship and fellowship in the body of Christ. Peace be with all who gather here.

This Morning the message is Saving and Investing. Wisdom from the Bible says, "precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours it" (Proverbs 21:20; ESV). God has given us the resources to fulfill His purpose for our life, and a wise man will be intelligent with their money on how they spend or save it. When we do follow God's principles on finances, we are able to live with a greater sense of freedom and the way God intended us to live.

Next Week the message is Rewards of Financial Faithfulness. We conclude our Faith and Finance sermon series with a call for patience. Jesus told John, "look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done" (Revelation 22:12). When we live less for the immediate satisfaction that comes from squandering and temptation, we are able to make choices that have eternal value.

Celebration Sabbath is Nov. 21st. Our small groups will be sharing their experiences. Also, we will be sharing a Thanksgiving Luncheon together. So please sign up to bring some food and join us!

Kitchen Utensils: If you have borrowed something from the kitchen (pots, pans, knives, etc.), please return them. We seem to have quite a few things missing. Thank you.

November 21st is Celebration Sabbath. After every small group series, we spend a Sabbath highlighting the experiences from each of our small groups. The groups will share what they learned from the past six weeks, and we will conclude the series with a celebration fellowship dinner that brings us all together.

In Our Prayers
Sergio Garcia: Remember Sergio as he undergoes another back surgery on November 10th. Please pray for healing.
Ray Fernandez: Ray has pancreatic and liver cancer. He is in Pacific Haven in Garden Grove. Please remember him in your prayers.
Isaac Jondiko: Tom J.'s father is ill in Kenya. Remember them in prayer.
Johnny Macias: He is recovering from surgery on his leg. Please pray the infection will be healed.
Sara & Sam Rivas: Their father has been given a few months to live due to cancer. Please remember the family in prayer.
Ava Meade: She requests prayer for healing from cancer.
Yolanda Ortegon: She requests prayer for healing and help with balance.
