Message Notes

Bible Heroes 3
Noah - Against the Grain

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. Genesis 6:5

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. Genesis 6:8-9

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just.  Deuteronomy 32:4

Never let the culture compromise your walk with God

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; Matthew 24:37-38

God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.
Genesis 6:12

... if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;    2 Peter 2:5

Share God's salvation even when the world rejects you.

So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out."  Genesis 6:13-14

Follow God even when it doesn't make sense.

I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark-you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you.   Genesis 6:17-18

Trust in God's promises even when the world seems to be falling apart.

By the first day of the first month of Noah's six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.  Genesis 8:13

Be patient as you are waiting for the Lord's working in your life.

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground..." Genesis 8:20-21

Living and praising God will change to the world.

This Week the message is Bible Heroes #3: Noah - Against the Grain. This Sabbath's message is about Noah as he was able to resist the ridicule from others and still be faithful to what the Lord was asking him to do. The truth is that people would rather defend their faith with their life rather than be mocked because of it.

Next Week the message is Bible Heroes #4: Abraham - Faith Triumphs. Abraham showed his willingness to do anything to follow God.  While he set the example of what God did for us, he also showed us the incredible power that comes with faith.

The First Day of School is August 22 at AUS and SGA. Make sure you're signed up for the new year.

Remember our Church Budget. We are just getting back to a positive balance. We appreciate your faithfulness.

Parking Lot Party is coming Saturday Aug. 27th, right here in our parking lot. Make sure to save the date and bring a few friends.
