"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV). Let us join in worshiping our faithful God.

This Morning is Communion Sabbath.  Jesus said, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you" (John 6:53). The Lord's Supper teaches us our desperate need for Jesus, and his desperate solution for us.

Next Week the message is The Freedom to Worship. This Sabbath falls on Independence Day, and we will celebrate together with a message that honors one of our country's greatest freedoms.   God values our freewill to love him, and we should be glad that this country does as well.

Welcome to worship on Memorial Day weekend. Today we remember those who've given their lives for our earthly freedom -- and worship the One who died and rose to ensure our eternal freedom.

This Morning the message is Armor of God. In the final sermon in our Alive in Christ series, we are reminded that we live in a spiritual warfare, and we desperately need God's protection.   We are urged by Paul to seek God's protection daily as he writes in Ephesians 6:13, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground."

Next Week is Celebration Sabbath. This special Sabbath celebrates the completion of our Alive in Christ small group series. At this time, each group shares their God stories that came from their six weeks of studying the book of Ephesians.

Graduates! June 6 we will take a moment to honor our Graduates. Join us in celebrating with them. There will also be a Mexican Luncheon after the service that everyone is welcome to stay for.

Celebration Luncheon: Please sign up to bring some Italian food for our Celebration Luncheon on May 30th. Invite a friend or two to join us!

Welcome to worship and Christian fellowship! Please greet one another in Christ's name.

This Morning the message is Walking in Love. In Ephesians 5:2, Paul calls us to walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.   Do you walk with love for people, or is it a struggle?  Hopefully, we can see through this study how to understand God's immense love for us, and that love propels us to treat others as God has treated us.

Welcome to the Downey Adventist Church!

This Mother's Day weekend we thank God for the special women in our lives while remembering Jesus' declaration: "Anyone who does God's will is my brother and sister and mother" (Mark 3:35, NLT). As Jesus' own family, let us worship God together now.

This Morning the message is Living in Unity. Paul writes to the people of Ephesus to "make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:4).  We will spend this time talking about how the Holy Spirit can humble our hearts so unity can even be possible, and how important unity is to fulfill the purpose of the body of Christ.

Next Week the message is Walking in Love.

Happy Mother's Day! We want to remind all the Moms that we love you. We have a small gift for all the Moms after the service today.

NEPAL: URGENT HELP NEEDED. The need is great and immediate action is critical. ADRA is responding and we need your support. Please donate at ADRA.org, call 1.800.424.ADRA (2372), or text ADRA to 41444.

Small Groups!  Our small group study is the Alive in Christ: 6 weeks with the Book of Ephesians. It's not too late to sign up for a group in the foyer.

May 23rd the message is Armor of God.
